Stoptober - week 1

I think I've done quite well this week...£40 on petrol - I wasn't going to get away without that one...60 mile round trip to work each day so I couldn't cut back there. I always "eco-drive" to and from work...I tuck in behind a lorry and sit there at 56 / 58 mph...they are so much better at sticking to that speed than I am...I can do it, but I find it takes a huge amount of concentration so easier to take advantage of the lorry drivers' skills. I've not driven anywhere over the weekend so I'm hoping that the petrol will last until Wednesday.
I also spent £1.18 on milk...I'm not fond of black tea & coffee so that one is a necessity for me.

Total spend = £41.18

No salad or potatoes left...1/2 a cauli, 1/2 a savoy cabbage , 1/3 of an augbergine, carrots and parsnips are all that remain of the fresh veg so I think a stop at Aldi will be required next week. I'll try to leave it until Thursday (or whenever the cat food runs out) . Until then I'll just need to be a bit creative. Veggy curry and rice on the menu for today and if I'm not too greedy, I can freeze some for a "ready meal"

I'm not feeling deprived at all :-)
Anyone else doing the challenge? How are you getting along?

Take care

  1. You seem to be off to a flying start with the Stoptober challenge and I'm sure you won't starve to death before Thursday. You have lots of nice sounding veggies there. Good luck with next week.
